Pongu Pongu, located in the Pandora – The World of Avatar section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, serves up specialty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and one snack option, Pongu Lumpia.
The menu features two specialty frozen drinks with boba balls. For the kids, there is the non-alcoholic Night Blossom, and for mom and dad, there’s the Mo’ara Margarita.
There are also two draft beer selections – Mo’ara High Country Ale and Hawkes’ Grog Ale – and bottled water offered.
I tried the green-hued Hawkes’ Grog Ale because, well, when in Pandora, do as the Na’vi do? (I don’t know… did they drink green beer?)
Anyway, the beer was ice-cold and pretty darn good. I think the closest well-known beer I could compare it to would be Yuengling.
Pongu Pongu also offers one snack option, the Pongu Lumpia.
The Pongu Lumpia is a pineapple cream cheese spring roll and comes two to an order. Lumpia is usually savory, but this one is sweet – really sweet. Surprisingly, it’s not the pineapple that is sweet, but the cream cheese. It is similar (if not the same) as the filling in Disney’s sweet cream cheese pretzels, except there is more of it.
And a heads up: Mine was messy. The filling was generous, but the spring roll seam wasn’t too sturdy. One bite, and it was a huge mess everywhere. Try taking your first bite with the seam side up, and get lots of napkins.
Pongu Pongu means “Party, Party” in the Na’vi language, and it’s certainly a hot spot to grab a cool drink.
