Since Tangierine Cafe in Epcot’s Morocco pavilion in the World Showcase has long been a family favorite counter service stop, I have been wanting to try the country’s table service restaurant, Restaurant Marrakesh, for some time.
Tucked at the very back of the pavilion, Restaurant Marrakesh seems to be one of the most overlooked restaurants at Epcot, but I think it’s also one of the best. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s out of sight or because the food may seem too “exotic” (it’s not!), but it truly is a hidden gem.
Nestled in the shadow of Cinderella Castle is one of my all-time favorite Walt Disney World dining stops – Sleepy Hollow. Located in Liberty Square, this quick service restaurant features sweet and savory waffle sandwiches, funnel cakes and pretzel dogs. There’s even a Breakfast Egg and Cheese Waffle Sandwich available until noon.
While the Sleepy Hollow menu has a number of sweet treats, like Mickey waffles or funnel cakes topped with powdered sugar or strawberries and whipped cream, my family makes a meal out of the tasty waffle sandwiches.

Satu’li Canteen – Pandora – The World of Avatar
Satu’li Canteen is the new quick service restaurant in Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and mobile ordering is available (more info on that below).
The menu for Satu’li Canteen features create-your-own bowls, where you choose a protein, base and sauce, as well as vegetable curry or cheeseburger steamed bao buns, or “pods.” Continue reading
Pongu Pongu – Pandora – The World of Avatar
Pongu Pongu, located in the Pandora – The World of Avatar section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, serves up specialty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and one snack option, Pongu Lumpia.
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ restaurant is located in the newer Town Center section of Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs. It features Florida-inspired comfort food and moonshine craft cocktails.
We started our lunch with a Bunch of Puppies – a basket of golden hush puppies served with pimento cheese and red jalapeño jelly. Now I’ve never met a hush puppy I didn’t like, and these did not disappoint. I was sure they would be my favorite part of lunch, but everything else blew them away.
If you are visiting Epcot during the annual International Flower and Garden Festival (now – May 30), make sure you spend a meal sampling from the Outdoor Kitchens (food booths) that are spread out around the World Showcase.
Each of the 13 themed booths features farm- and garden-inspired food and beverages and are open every day during World Showcase hours (11 a.m. – park closing). The food items are a tasting size portion, so you probably need to make a few stops to fill up for a meal, and they are priced from $3-7. Each booth also offers a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, priced from $2.50-12.50, with the wines and beer flights being at the higher end. Also, tax is included in all the prices.
La Cantina de San Angel is a counter service restaurant located across from the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase that specializes in tacos, nachos, empanadas and other similar eats.
Originally, we were on a quest for some grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup from the ever-elusive Taste Track. It was a cool (for Florida) winter day, and Tater will never say no to a grilled cheese. But when we arrived, it was closed! I have attempted to get food from Taste Track on at least three separate trips, and it has been closed every single time (including 1:30 p.m. on Presidents Day). I have come to the conclusion that I will never get my Canadian Cheddar and Granny Smith apple deliciousness.
Anyway, without an ADR (Advanced Dining Reservation), we needed a quick grilled cheese replacement. Where else in Epcot could we find some cheese melted between carbs?
